January 2017 President's Message

Hope your holidays were fun filled, relaxing and just what you needed.  I had such a wonderful time at our Holiday Party at William Penn Inn.  The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was so festive.  It gave us just that little bit special for our party.  The Paddle Raffle was so much fun.  Thank you all for your thoughtful donations.  We made $168 toward our charities.  Next year I’d like to see us have 30 people at the party and shoot for $200.00 from the Paddle Raffle.  It was great to see everyone there and to hear the laughter and camaraderie during the meeting.  In addition, thanks to your generosity we were able to donate $200.00 from our club and $100.00 from our members for Colonial Neighborhood Council.

We heard some sad/good news.  Susan Parsons Knab has decided to retire.  She and Ben will be moving to Costa Rica in January.  We will miss you.  You always kept us on point with the financials and your help with protocol.   Linda Newsum has graciously agreed to be our Treasurer for the remainder of the term.  It would be great if someone would think about holding this office for the 2017-2018 term.

Our January meeting will be held at the Broad Axe Tavern on 73 and Butler.  Hope you can make the meeting.  Mary Reinoehl will be our guest speaker.  I can’t wait to find out if I am making the right plans for my retirement.

Wishing you all a safe, healthy and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Respectfully, President Donna
